A worldschool hub is coming to the English countryside in September 2025! Join our Facebook Group here.

After spending time around the world and enjoying various Worldschool Hubs and communities, we’ve decided it’s time to give back and create our own hub – and not one, but two. And we are so excited to host you in our incredible country!

The hub will run from Wednesday 17th – Sunday 21st September

following directly on from the inaugural Manchester city Worldschool hub. Read more about that here.

Worldschool hub details

Less than 2 hours from Manchester city centres we are lucky enough to enjoy some incredible countryside! With the Lake District, Peak District, and Yorkshire Dales all easily accessible, we have some stunning landscapes and outdoor space on our doorstep!

Come with us to enjoy the best of the British countryside and the great outdoors over a long weekend worldschool hub in the UK.

So here’s the full details and FAQs. Read on and join us for an unforgettable experience!

Worldschool Hub Sample Activities and Itinerary

The full itinerary will be published once we have more of a feel for numbers and are able to confirm the exact accommodation we all be in. We are hosting this hub as a complete package, with food, group accommodation and activities included.

  • Walks and hikes in our great, green National Parks – the Peak District, Lake District or Yorkshire Dales
  • A day on the bikes – cycle along traffic free trails for family friendly adventures on two wheels
  • Visit traditional country pubs, shops and towns – sample a bakewell tart, yorkshire pudding and the best cheese around!
  • Arts, crafts and games at the accommodations – and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to burn off energy

What’s the cost of the countryside UK worldschool hub?

This is a hub where almost everything is taken care of for you – you just need to get yourselves there. We are creating a community of like-minded families to come together and live together – share chats over coffees, have more eyes involved in supervising the kids, re-tell travelling tales and woes over a beer in the evening. We’ve personally both benefitted and enjoyed this set up ourselves.

The cost is just £1,250 per family of 4. For larger families, it’s an extra £200 per extra child. This covers all logistical arrangements, bookings, accommodation, food (breakfast, lunch, evening meal), activities as listed below, reservations, and facilitating communication before and during the hub. We’re on hand to answer any questions and provide support throughout your journey with us. We’ll also be part of all the activities, stay at the accommodation and be on hand as needed.

That’s less than £75 per person per day for pretty much everything!

We’re offering a 10% discount if attending both the Manchester and Countryside hubs.

We just ask for a 20% deposit upfront with the balance due 45 days before arrival.

What’s not included in the Worldschool hub?

Travel to the UK, and from your arrival point to the hub. We recommend hiring a car, but quotes can be provided for transport if required.

Snacks, drinks, alcohol!

Additional activities not on the agenda that you choose to do.

Travel insurance should be taken out in case of accident, injury or cancellation.

FAQs

Why is the countryside hub so much more expensive than the Manchester city one?

That’s easy – it’s a much more all inclusive package. The cost for this hub includes accommodation, 3 meals a day and activities. The city centre hub does not include any of those things as we know people’s needs and budgets when in a city are different. But in both hubs you get our full support for the entire time. And we can’t wait to guide you on this journey.

How do we get there?

We recommend flying into Manchester which has a huge and well connected airport, offering flights to and from most European cities, and even direct flights to the Middle East and major airport hubs in the US. Other options are Birmingham, Leeds or Nottingham. We are also just over 2 hours on the train from London – but we do recommend flying into Manchester or Leeds if you can for ease.

The hub will begin at 4pm on Wednesday 17th September so we suggest arriving that morning or the day before (if not already on our Manchester hub).

Do we need to hire a car?

We do recommend hiring a car. This can be done from the airport or Manchester city centre. Driving on the left is not too daunting.

Who is the hub for?

One word – families! Whether you are travelling full time, home-schooling, vanlife-ing or on a family holiday, we would love to have you join us. This is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded families from around the world! One things we’ve learned is that when there is a community, life is easier as the kids are happier! And that’s what we want to create! We’re not putting any age range on our hub as we think the itinerary can cater for all – young children may need a carrier to help with the walking! We’ll share the ages of the children as soon as we know.

Who are our hosts?

We are!! The Trowberrys, Kris, Stef, Alicia and Nyle! We’ve spent the last 12 months travelling the world as a family and so we think we have a pretty good idea of what works, what doesn’t and what families need when travelling, worldschooling, vanlife-ing or homeschooling.

What sort of accommodation will we be in?

Exact accommodation will be confirmed when numbers are known. However, expect comfortable but basic community living – each family will have a private bedroom with shared communal kitchen, living and outdoor areas. Bedding will be provided for all.

Where is the hub?

Depending on numbers and ages of children, we will either be staying in the beautiful Lake District, Peak District or Yorkshire Dales – all are stunningly beautiful and less than 2 hours from Manchester.

What activities are included?

We’ll be exploring forests, hiking peaks, or even cycling traffic-free trails – all whilst enjoying the views of green open spaces, rivers and lakes! We’ll take you to quaint English villages for a proper country pub pint!, enjoy cheese tasting, and book us all in for a Traditional British Sunday lunch – with yorkshire pudding and gravy! There will also be arts, crafts and games included. All of these activities will be included in the cost of the hub.

We want to combine this with a tour of England – where do you recommend for before and after?

We are also hosting an additional hub in the great British countryside straight after the city hub. We’ll arrange group accommodation and all activities during this time for 4 nights. Think hiking, forests exploration, castles and gardens. This will be heavily outdoor-based and we would recommend hiring a car which you can do from Manchester city centre. Transport options are possible if you don’t want to drive on the left!

Here’s some other ideas for exploration and distances from Manchester (either driving or by train):

  • Manchester – 1-2 hours – join our Manchester hub beforehand too!
  • York – 90 minutes
  • London – 2.5 hours by train, 5 hours driving
  • Edinburgh – 4-5 hours
  • Lake District – 2 hours
  • Peak District – 1 hour
  • North Wales – 2 hours (climb Snowdon!)
  • Liverpool – home of the Beatles – 1-2 hours
  • Chester – 1-2 hours

There really is more to the UK than just London, and Manchester is a great starting point to explore the countryside from. We’re here to help you plan any before or after adventures you may want to do. But we hope we’ve peaked your interest and you’d love to join us for the Manchester-based worldschool hub as well!
